Richie Lee, a high school student from Des Moines, Iowa, rehearses a Buddy Holly song in his bedroom recently. Lee, who has performed as Holly on stage since the age of 7, also has teamed with a couple of band members in their 50's. They play all around the state on weekends. Holly was killed in a plane crash near Mason City, Iowa, on Feb. 3, 1959, after playing his last gig at the Surf Ballroom in Clear Lake, Iowa.
