Mike Moyle's face shows the efforts of his labor during a bi-annual cattle roundup at the Bar B ranch near Albia, Iowa. An early morning shower had turned the ground into a muddy quagmire, as cowboys roped and seperated calves from the herd for vaccinations, branding and the placement of growth stimulant implants. The male calves were also castrated. Owner Catherine Bay runs the operation with a herd of over 2,000 cattle.
